Ted Shore – Ask Ted Shore if he served in the U. S. Army and he will tell you NO! He served in the Army of the U. S.! The difference was the U. S. Army was made up of draftees while the Army of the U. S. was composed of men and women who like Ted enlisted in the military during the Korean Conflict. When you hear Ted’s name you think of hockey, and rightly so since in 1946 Ted began working with his father, the late, great Eddie Shore. While with the Indians Ted served tours as coach, business manager, vice president and general manager. He was inducted into the Springfield Hockey Hall of Fame in 2000. Ted is a man of many interests. He is a 44 year Shriner serving as Potentate of the Melha Shrine in 1995 and on the Shriner’s Hospital Board of Directors from 1997 to 2006. Ted joined the Galaxy Council in 1992 and has been a faithful supporter of the council. He has worked every air show and most picnics always ready to lend a hand. The father of four and grandfather of nine, Ted has been married for 49 years to Evelyn Gray who he met while she was a member of the Ice Capades. Thank you Ted for your service to the Galaxy Community Council.
