MEMBER OF THE MONTH: The Galaxy Community Council’s member of the month for May is Christine Maiwald. She and her husband, fellow GCC member Werner, own and operate Renaissance Advisory Services, LLC. Chris is an integral part of the company and as Corporate Administrator she is responsible for the day to day operations, accounts payable, event planning and corporate branding. They have grown their business together and now have 5 in the group. Their growth has been organic, as they only take on 2-3 new clients a month. Their motto is; “We connect with our clients, not collect them.” Their name recognition in the community is what sets them apart and speaks to their reputable work.
Chris has a love for community and it is shown through her volunteer activities and monetary donations to many causes. In addition to her commitment to the Galaxy Community Council and active participant in the Westover Air Show and other GCC activities, as a member of the Greater Chicopee Chamber of Commerce Chris and Werner were chosen by the chamber as recipients of the 2017 “Citizens of the Year”. She is a Board of Director for the East of the River 5 Town Chamber, a member of the Greater Westfield, Springfield Regional, West of the River and Massachusetts Chambers of Commerce. Chris sits on the Board of Directors of Unify Against Bullying and is an Ambassador for Dress for Success. She also volunteers her time to many community events including Revitalize CDC, Wicked in Pink, the Brightside toy drive and the Friends of Wilbraham Senior Center Fashion Show.
Chris has previously served as a member of the Sisters of Providence Elder Life program and “Catch the Spirit” committee. She loves people and feels extremely blessed to have been able to spend time assisting others with their end of life transition as a Baystate VNA Hospice volunteer.
Family and friends are important to Chris and in her free time, she loves to spend time with her husband Werner, children and six grandchildren! She also enjoys time with her many friends and is known as the “Cruise Director” by the group. Creating gift baskets, cooking, dancing, going to the beach and theatre are a few of her interests.
We thank Christine for being a contributing member of the GCC. It is people like her that make our organization great.
